Question for US based nurse midwives and physician's assistants ONLY?
I am interested in becoming a nurse midwive, and I have read that in some states, mid level providers such as CNMs and PAs are permitted to perform abortions. Is this true, and if so, which states allow it? Thanks.
I am pro-choice.
As a PA I do not know of what states allow PAs to do abortions, at least not any states I have close knowledge of. You can contact the national organization at aapa.org. However, that (even pro-choice) is a poor reason to become a PA or a CNM as you would be expected to do far more than just abortions.
